OpenAthens General Information
Answer
We are excited to announce that our Research Library is in the process of implementing OpenAthens!
Starting in August/September 2025, the Research Library will use OpenAthens (OA) to grant access to our paid databases and e-resources.
OpenAthens is a service that allows authorized users to easily access to the Library's paid online resources, like databases, e-books, and e-journals, from anywhere. It validates the user's login information and either allows access or denies it.
OpenAthens will require a username and password for access.
- OpenAthens will fully replace OCLC EZProxy on 31 August 2025. After 31 August 2025, EZProxy links will no longer work
- Bookmarked links and links in course materials that contain the current EZProxy prefix https://lomc.idm.oclc.org/login?url= will need to be updated
- If you are accessing or creating e-resources link via the Online Catalog or the A-Z Databases list after 31 August, you will not need to make any changes
- Just be sure to correctly copy the permalink/purl when you want to share a link!
