OpenAthens General Information

Answer

We are excited to announce that our Research Library is in the process of implementing OpenAthens!

Starting in July 2025, the Research Library will use OpenAthens (OA) exclusively to grant access to our paid databases and e-resources.

OpenAthens is an authentication service that allows authorized users to easily access to the Library's paid online resources, like databases, e-books, and e-journals, from anywhere.

OpenAthens will require a username and password for access.

  • OpenAthens will fully replace OCLC EZProxy on 14 July 2025
  • Bookmarked links and links in course materials that contain the current EZProxy prefix https://lomc.idm.oclc.org/login?url= will need to be updated
  • After 15 July 2025, these links will no longer work
  • If you are accessing or creating e-resources link via the Online Catalog or the A-Z Databases list after July 15, you will not need to make any changes
  • Just be sure to correctly copy the permalink/purl when you want to share a link
  • Contact Virtual Branch for more information
