Why is the Library moving to OpenAthens? What about EZProxy?

It's about time.
OA is easier to deal with than authentication methods. You will only need to log in once to start an 8-hour long OA session. During that time, you will not be asked to log in again regardless of the number of different content platforms you visit.
OA allows users to login directly with participating content provider (for example, a publisher's website), providing a more natural way of discovering content. This reduces the frustrating ‘pay for full text’ limitations experienced when attempting to access resources directly previously.
The Library will no longer support EZProxy after 14 July 2025.
